Class update

So my stats class is pretty big and we don't all fit in the lecture hall we are supposed to be in on Monday's and there is nowhere for us to go. The solution was to stream the lecture to a different lecture theater so there would be enough seats. This is the first time I have seen this done. Apparently it's not too uncommon here. So my lecturer is in one theater on campus with half the class and the other half is in a different theater down the street. I am in the theater with the stream. People take the class seriously so they are not talking or anything when class is going on.

My food science class is really interesting. We are learning how to approach product development from a marketing/business perspective instead of a science one. We got to eat lollies and look at how being offered a variety of foods can cause a person to eat more. We also got to eat potato chips, chocolate, and hazelnuts to see how much we liked them and for a masters student to talk to us about her research in desire and wanting of foods that are recommended for the public to consume on a daily bases. She looked at the daily  recommendation of nuts from the Heart Association and if people would actually consume that amount without not loosing the desire to eat them. She found that people would not loose the desire for the nuts but people do loose the desire for chocolate and potato chips after eating a certain amount everyday for a long period of time.

In Maori performing arts we started to learn a new song but there is no dancing with it because it is a song of mourning. I'm not a big fan of just singing but we get to learn a song and dance soon.

Foreign Policy is a lot of lecturing and trying to learn the background of NZ while applying it to what I am learning in lecture. It's interesting just a lot to keep up with.
